Baseball Grabs CCAC Win Over USF
The Crimson Wave baseball team grabbed a conference win today against the University of St. Francis Fighting Saints. The game was considered a home game in the books for CCSJ but played in Joliet, IL due to weather.
CCSJ led the day posting the first two runs in the third inning of play on singles from Bubba Davenport (FR/Griffith, Ind.) and Enrique Rivero (JR/Miami, Fla.). The fourth inning brought three more CCSJ runs when Noah Miller (SO/Chicago, Ill.) homered bringing in Juan Landeros (FR/Chicago, IL) and Idan Ortiz (JR/San Juan P.R) to give the men a 5-0 lead.
USF would finally get on the board in the top of seven posting three runs. The Crimson Wave would answer back in the bottom of seven with a run on a Rivero double. USF would post one more run in the top of 8 before CCSJ a Miller double and USF error would give the Crimson Wave an 8-4 win.
CCSJ will travel to Saint Xavier University on March 23rd for a 1:00 pm CCAC game.
