Dance Kicks Off Season Virtually
The Crimson Wave Dance Team kicked off their season competing at the Concordia University Invite this weekend. The event, originally planned as a live in-person competition, was moved to a virtual event due to COVID-19 concerns.
The competition featured five teams from throughout the Midwest. Each team live streamed their performance from their own gyms for the judges, fans and competitors to watch. This was the first of this style of event the Crimson Wave has competed in.
The ladies took fifth place overall in the event, preparing them for a long list of competitions this season before the NAIA regional competition.
"CCSJ Competitive Dance is excited to have started their competitive season. This is a new world for some of dancers but we are determined to make this a wonderful experience for all. We are excited to head to Bethel College in Kansas in February for a fun filled weekend of competition. I am proud of these dancers and all of the hard work they have done this season so far. Due to all the challenges this year have put upon us, it hasn't stopped these WAVE ladies! We are looking for an amazing season." Said Coach Marion Castillo
