CCSJ Sprint Football own longest active winning streak in MSFL history
Riding a 10-game winning streak, the Crimson Wave will look to make it 11 wins in a row as they host the Midway Eagles on Saturday, October 19.
Whiting, IN – Following the win over Oakland City on Saturday, October 12, the Calumet College of St. Joseph Sprint Football team not only clinched a playoff spot for the third consecutive season, but they also extended the longest-active winning streak in Midwest Sprint Football League's history.
The shutout win propelled the Wave to a record of 4-0, heading into Week 6 of the season. Dating back to the 2023-24 season, that win extended the program's overall winning streak to 10 games.
CCSJ had already taken sole possession of the MSFL's longest win streak with its first win of the season against Walsh on Saturday, September 14. That victory marked their seventh win in a row for the Crimson Wave dating back to last year.
Prior to that, it was Bellarmine who held the longest win streak at six in 2023. Other notable win streaks within the MSFL include Saint Mary-of-the-Woods with five wins in a row in 2022-23 and Quincy with three wins a row in both 2022 and 2023.
Heading into Week 6 of the 2024 season, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is the only other team in the MSFL with an active winning streak, as they just won their fourth game in a row.
In this 10-game stretch, the Crimson Wave have outscored opponents 254 to 53.
In seven of the 10 games, the CCSJ defense hasn't given up more than one touchdown. In fact, Bellarmine is the only team to score more than one touchdown against the Wave, dating back to September of 2023.
The upcoming schedule for the Wave only presents more opportunity to extend its historic run as they host a 1-3 Midway team on Saturday, October 19. A rematch of the MSFL Championship against Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is set for the following weekend on Saturday, October 26.
CCSJ's game this Saturday against Midway is scheduled to kickoff at 5:00 PM CT.
