Men’s Basketball comes back to beat Cardinal Stritch 74-67
Milwaukee, WI - Calumet College Men's Basketball team's second game of 2023 was another CCAC road game. Coming off of a tough loss Saturday against Governors State, the Crimson Wave hoped for a different outcome.
CSU started the game ahead of the Wave, but slowly CCSJ gained a small lead and the rest of the 1st Half was a game of back-and-forth. Cardinal Stritch had the 41-38 lead over the Crimson Wave at halftime. The two teams continued to go point-for-point, but with 8:30 left in the game CSU had a 7-point lead over CCSJ. The Wave continued to work their way back up, and in two minutes they had a 4-point lead. As the clock ticked down, the Wave held a lead over the Wolves and two made free throws from D.J. Shelton secured CCSJ's 74-67 win.
Coming off the bench, Dorwynn Smith led the Crimson Wave in scoring with 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal. Oshawn Lee scored 13 points with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Noel Mpie scored 12 points with 9 rebounds and 1 block. Overall, the Crimson Wave had a 60.8% Field Goal percentage and 64.3% made Free-Throw percentage.
The Crimson Wave's next game is on the road again at Trinity Christian on Saturday, January 14th at 3:00 PM.
