Whiting, IN - Coming off a tough 64-60 overtime loss to Trinity Christian, the Calumet College Men's Basketball team returned home for the first time in 2023. The Crimson Wave started the game off strong, going point-for-point with the Saints (10-9). In the final seconds of the first half, the Crimson Wave had a 2-point lead but Oshawn Lee's last-second 3-pointer put the Wave up 39-34 going into halftime. CCSJ battled to stay ahead of Holy Cross in the 2nd Half, but in the final 20 seconds of the game, the Saints were within 2 of the Wave. The Crimson Wave defense held Holy Cross back, while two made free throws from Reggie Loury put the Wave ahead 80-76 and snap the Saints' five-game win streak. This was the first win over Holy Cross since 2018 when the Wave beat the Saints 67-66 in December, but lost to HCC in their second meeting in February 88-71.
Loury led the Wave, scoring a personal season-high 20 points, with four made 3-pointers and 5 rebounds. Lee was close behind with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Floyd Davis scored 13 points with 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks.
The Crimson Wave move to 4-8 in CCAC play and are back on the road Saturday as they travel to take on Roosevelt University at 3 PM.
