Crimson Wave stumble in loss to Roosevelt, 93-74

Chicago, IL. – The Calumet College of St. Joseph men's basketball team lost a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference game to Roosevelt 93-74 on Saturday, December 2 at the Goodman Center. The Crimson Wave (2-6, 0-3 CCAC) made 11 3-pointers, its second-most this season, in the loss. 

How it Happened

CCSJ began the contest with a 5-0 lead thanks to a Joshua Morris layup and 3-pointer in the opening minute. For the game, that would be Calumet College's largest lead as Roosevelt would respond, tying it at 15 before going on a 17-9 run to force a Crimson Wave timeout.

Roosevelt would continue to stay hot and extend its lead to 15 at halftime making eight 3-pointers and shooting 59 percent from the field in the first half.

Cutting the lead down to 12 with 17:42 remaining after an Oshawn Lee layup and a Devan Nichols 3-pointer, would be as much as Calumet College could cut into the deficit. Over the course of the next 10 minutes, Roosevelt outscored CCSJ 26 to 18 to extend the Lakers lead to 20 with six minutes left.

In total, the Crimson Wave recorded its second-best season performance from behind the arc nailing 11 of its 25 3-pointers attempted. CCSJ shot 41 percent (25-of-61) from the field and 65 percent (13-of-20) from the free throw line.

Crimson Wave Leaders

Reginald Loury led CCSJ with 20 points, eight rebounds and two assists while shooting 7-of-16 from the field and 4-for-7 from behind the arc. Joshua Morris added 10 points and three assists while Oshawn Lee provided 10 points off the bench.
