CCSJ Men's Bowling finishes 11th at Midwest Collegiate Championships
Wauwatosa, WI – The Calumet College of St. Joseph men's bowling team finished 11th at the 53rd Annual Midwest Collegiate Championships.
The two-day event consisted of individuals on Saturday, October 5 and team competition on Sunday, October 6.
On Saturday, 398 bowlers bowled five games to determine a winner. Mason Doan led the Crimson Wave with a score of 1088, tying for 21st place. Alex Linnenbrink was not too far behind, finishing with a score of 1080 for 27th place.
Nick Dudeck came in 30th with a score of 1077 and Ian Dobran placed 33rd with a score of 1071.
As a team on Sunday, CCSJ was sitting in the top-five amongst a pool of 53 teams after the first three sets of play. Finishing with an overall score of 6173 after the first set landed the Crimson Wave in third place. They would fall to fourth place after the second set and would remain in fourth with a score of 7788 after the third set.
After struggling in set four, the Crimson Wave fell to the 11th spot and missed out on the bracket play with only the top eight teams advancing.
The Crimson Wave will look to bounce back next week and have a better outing collectively at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout beginning Saturday, October 12.
