Four Crimson Wave named to CCAC Men's Soccer All-Academic
Chicago, IL – The Calumet College of St. Joseph men's soccer team had four players named to the 2025 Men's Soccer Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic team, as the complete list was announced Tuesday afternoon. The players that earned this honor for the Crimson Wave are senior Matthew Guifarro, senior Ricardo Pinto, senior Felipe Poblete and sophomore Jeovanni Ramirez-Guerrero.
To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have been enrolled at their respective CCAC school for at least one academic year, completed at least 30 semester hours and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
Guifarro, a psychology and human services major, scored his first and only goal of the season against IU Columbus on August 27. Pinto, a kinesiology major, scored two goals this season. His first goal was the Crimson Wave's first goal of the season against IU Columbus on August 27. Pinto's second goal was CCSJ's final goal scored of the season vs St. Ambrose on November 1 in the season finale.
Poblete, a business management major that's now a two-time recipient of this honor, played in 14 of the Wave's 17 games this season. He had one shot on goal in the opening game of the season that was just narrowly stopped by the opposing team's goalie. Ramirez-Guerrero, a business management major as well, played in 15 of Crimson Wave's 17 games this season and finished with six shots, four on goal.
