CCSJ Men's Soccer signs Hammond Central's Cortez

Hammond, IN – The Calumet College of St. Joseph men's soccer program have signed Julian Cortez for the upcoming 2026 season.
Cortez, a 5'10 forward of Hammond Central High School, said he chose CCSJ because, "It's a local, near to home college that is great academically, wants to build and has offered me an opportunity."
The Whiting, Indiana native is unsure what he'll major in, but said he's looking forward to life in the classroom and all of his soccer games and practices.
At Hammond Central, Cortez played on the soccer team and was the leading goal scorer of his class his freshman year.
