CCSJ Continues Hot-Pace at the Benedictine Invitational
LISLE, Ill. – The Crimson Wave track and field squads continued to make strides over the weekend, as both the men's and women's teams were in action at the Benedictine Invitational on April 14-15.
Multiple school records and personal bests being broken continue to be the theme of the season so far for CCSJ. In total, 10 events saw Wave athlete's re-write school record books or personal-bests in Naperville, Ill.
School Records:
Celeste Rosillo in the Women's 1,500 Meter Run (5:26.00)
Harley Sutton in the Women's 100 Meter Hurdles (16.32)
Natalie Nowesnick in the Women's Long Jump (4.98m)
Matthew King in the Men's 3,000 Meter Steeplechase (9:57.23)
Personal Bests:
Roger Malonda in the Men's 800 Meter Run, broke 2 minutes (1:58.81)
Olivia Askew in the Women's 400 Meter Dash (59.14)
Robert Davis in the Men's Long Jump (6.57m)
Harley Sutton in the Women's High Jump (1.50m)
Demetrius Banks in the Men's High Jump (1.90m)
Rakeem Bluitt in the 800 Meter Run (2:07.22)
Collectively, the women's side finished 23rd out of 28 competing clubs, and the men's group earned a 22nd-place finish in the two-day event.
Next up is a trip to the Concordia Invitational in River Forest, Ill., on April 22.
