Men’s Volleyball defeat the Lakers 3-0
Monday, the Calumet College Men's Volleyball team traveled to Roosevelt University for their 5th CCAC match-up of the season. The Crimson Wave were coming off of a 3-1 CCAC win over ONU and hungry for another conference win.
The Crimson Wave started the 1st Set strong, getting ahead of the Lakers early on. Errors from CCSJ gave Roosevelt the opportunity to regain some lost ground, but the Crimson Wave finished strong to win Set 1 25-20. The 2nd Set was a come-from-behind win for the Crimson Wave, Roosevelt rallies gave the Lakers a lead in the beginning, but CCSJ tied it up 14-14 and took the lead from there to finish the match 25-22. In the 3rd and final set, started off behind Roosevelt but quickly came back to take the lead over the Lakers and never let up, securing their 3-0 win over Roosevelt with a 25-18 set win.
Francis Hauze and Pedro Castillo both had 13 kills on the day to lead the team, followed by Gianluca Righetto and Steven Gutierrez each with 6 kills. Jacob Moen had 25 assists and Ethan Dawson had 9 digs.
The Crimson Wave are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Viterbo for a Tri-Match.
