Wave XC Set PRs in Seminole Valley Stampede

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Crimson Wave men's and women's cross country teams competed in Iowa for the second-straight event on Saturday morning, as the Crimson Wave capped off the 2016 regular season at the Seminole Valley Stampede.
The men's side of the coin saw Matt King set the pace for the guys at 27:05 - leading the way for CCSJ in a 67th-place individually out of 244 runners in the 8K. Miguel Flores was 15 seconds behind at 27:20, and in third was Deonta Pittman just over 28 minutes at 28:02.
Robert Davis (29:12) and Luis Munoz (29:38) finished fourth and fifth for the Wave, respectively.
Collectively, CCSJ crossed the line in 21st out of 25 teams at a time of 209:31.
As for the ladies, the Crimson Wave hit the finish line in 23rd out of 25 competing squads at 155:13. Individually, Harley Sutton (88th) and Dayanir Montoya (94th) both finished in the top 100 with times in the 21st-minute at 20:41 and 20:50.
In third was Kellyn Vale at 21:11, and two 23rd-minute finishers - Celeste Rosillo (22:19) and Danielle Weems (22:21) - came across the line with solid races for fourth and fifth-place on the Wave.
Postseason play is now on the horizon with the CCAC Championship set to take place on Nov. 5 in Bourbonnais, Ill., at 11 a.m.
