Crimson Wave Softball drops doubleheader at Warner
In their first doubleheader of their Florida road trip, the CCSJ softball team fell to Warner on Friday, March 1 at the Daly Field in Lakes Wales, Florida. The Wave lost game one 12-4, as well game two, 5-1.

Lake Wales, FL – In their first doubleheader on their Florida road trip, the Calumet College of St. Joseph softball team fell to Warner on Friday, March 1 at the Daly Field. The Wave lost game one 12-4 in five innings and lost game two, 5-1 in seven innings.
Game One: Warner 12, CCSJ 4 – 5 innings
In Game 1, Warner got out to a hot start, recording 12 runs in the first two innings. CCSJ scored its first run in the second inning as Kylee Slack stole home. The Wave scored two more runs at the top of the third, after a base hit by Jacqueline Marquez and Kathryn O'Brien being walked at the plate with the bases loaded.
CCSJ was able to score one more at the top of the fifth inning but it wasn't enough as the Wave lost once the inning was over. At the mound, Roxanne Ines pitched one inning, giving up seven hits and eight earned runs. Victoria Jenson pitched two innings, struck out and gave up three hits.
Game Two: Warner 5, CCSJ 1
In Game 2, both teams went scoreless for the first five innings. It wasn't until Adelina Staden hit a single to right field that at the top of the sixth inning that brought Ryan Regnier home and scored the first run of the game. Unfortunately for the Wave, Warner answered back in the bottom of the inning with five runs. The Wave had one inning left to try and recover from the deficit but couldn't.
Regnier led CCSJ with two hits in the loss. Kenzie Lanman took the loss at the mound for the Crimson Wave. She pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up 11 hits and five earned runs, while striking out one batter.
