Crimson Wave Softball earns sixth seed for CCAC Tournament
CCSJ hosts and will compete in the 2025 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament beginning Friday, May 2 at the Crown Point Sportsplex in Crown Point, Indiana.
Crown Point, IN – The Calumet College of St. Joseph softball team (15-25, 7-9 CCAC) has earned the sixth seed in the upcoming Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament that begins Friday, May 2 at the Crown Point Sportsplex. CCSJ serves as the tournament host for the sixth consecutive year.
The three-day tournament opens with a pair of matchups at 12 noon. CCSJ faces St. Ambrose while Indiana University South Bend faces Olivet Nazarene.
The top-two seeds, Saint Xavier and St. Francis, both earn first-round byes. They'll begin postseason play Friday at 2 pm.
St. Francis will play the winner between CCSJ and St. Ambrose while Saint Xavier will await the winner of Indiana University South Bend and Olivet Nazarene.
The tournament will continue with four more games on Saturday, followed by the championship round on Sunday.
The winner advances to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round May 12-15.
The Crimson Wave haven't been in the CCAC Softball Tournament since 2023 where they went 0-2 losing to Saint Xavier in the opening round before being eliminated by Trinity Christian in the first round of the loser's bracket. There are currently four Crimson Wave who were on the postseason team in 2023. Those being seniors Adelina Staden, Tiffanie Brieno, Kylee Slack and Geralyn Barton.
Unlike the 2023 season, the Wave enter the tournament riding a 7-game winning streak, including four straight against conference opponents.
