Coach Maurek finished his 28th coaching season by helping direct Andrean High School to a 2A Indiana State Championship. He served as the team’s Quarterback’s coach. Previously, Coach Maurek coached at Michigan City High School. John enters his 29th year of coaching which includes stops at Homewood Flossmoor and Bloom Township High Schools located in Illinois. Coach Maurek’s travels in Indiana include Chesterton, Knox, Lake Station, Marian and East Chicago. Coach Maurek is a Co-Teacher in the English Department for Michigan City High School. He resides in Valparaiso with his wife Emily and son, Max (16).
