The Crimson Wave Women's Basketball team hosted University of St. Francis on Wednesday for their Home opener for the 2021-22 season. CCSJ was able to keep up with the Fighting Saints until the 3rd Quarter, where USF took their biggest lead and secured their 73-36 win over CCSJ.
The Crimson Wave played close to USF in the 1st and 2nd Quarters, finishing the first half only down 30-20. In the 3rd Quarter, the Fighting Saints scored 31 points over CCSJ to increase their lead over the Crimson Wave and in the 4th Quarter secured their win by only allowing CCSJ to score 11 points.
The Crimson Wave leaders on the night were Zariah Frierson with 10 points and 7-12 in free throws and Shakeana Clark with 3 assists and 9 rebounds. In total, the Crimson Wave were 60.7% from the free throw line, 8.3% in 3-points made, and 19.1% in total field goals.
CCSJ is now 0-2 in the CCAC and overall play and will return to play on Saturday, Nov. 13th against Trinity Christian.
