Berrien Springs, MI – The Calumet College of St. Joseph women's soccer team earned its first win of the 2025 season after defeating Andrews University 11-0 on Wednesday evening.
The victory not only marked the first win of the season for the Crimson Wave, but it was the programs first win since September 13, 2022. CCSJ's 11 goals secured the most goals scored in a single game in program history and the 11-goal margin also stands as the largest win in program history.
"The girls needed a game like this where they played really well and were able to find the back of the net numerous times," women's head soccer coach Ante Cop said. "Hopefully this bodes well for the next few games and starts us on the road to more goals in future games."
The offensive output was led by Nikolina Panagiotou and Lidia Rodriguez, as they both scored four goals each. It's the first time in CCSJ women's soccer history that two players scored four goals in the same game.
Regan Hornyak scored her second and third goals of the season, and Logan Bierman scored one goal. Valeria Gonzalez had two assists while Yensenia Cruz and Sabrina Ramsay had one assist each.
The Crimson Wave out-shot Andrews 37-0, forcing 15 saves from the opposing goalkeeper. CCSJ's defense allowed no shots on goal.
