Volleyball Falls to Trojans in CCAC Contest
The CCSJ women's volleyball team took a loss on the road today to the Trinity International University Trojans today in Deerfield, IL.
The Trojans to the match in straight games 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, 12-25). Sincere Northern (JR/Indianapolis, Ind.) again led CCSJ with 7 kills while teammates Breonn Green (JR/Hammond, Ind.) and Makayla Watts (JR/Trenton, Ohio) added 5 and 4 respectively. The match was a team defense effort as Watts posted 6 digs and Jade Green (SO/Hammond, Ind.) and Alexis Switzer (SO/Portage, Ind.) each had 5.
"We competed. They are second in the conference with a 7-1 record. We continue to be competitive and maintain fight to the end. We averaged 11 points per game against them last season. We averaged 16 tonight. While we are not happy with the final outcome, we are pleased with the continued improvement. We felt that our defense and serve receive both took a step forward today. The communication in both is dramatically improved," said Head Coach Sean McMorrow
The Crimson Wave now 0-12 overall and 0-10 in league play will host the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Saturday March 6th at 1:00 pm. The game will be played at the Rittenmeyer Athletic Center.
