Crimson Wave Women's Volleyball goes 2-2 at UHSP Tournament

The Crimson Wave went 2-2 on the weekend at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Tournament in St. Louis, MO. Match 1 against University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy the Wave lost 3-0: 13-25, 11-25, and 23-25. The team's leading scorers were Sincere Northern with 6 kills and Makayla Watts with 3 service aces, and Rebecca Larios led the team with 9 assists. In Match 2 versus Friends University, the Wave lost in 3 close matches: 25-19, 25-17,and 25-21. Sincere Northern led with 6 kills, Diana Ortuno had 5 kills, and Rebecca Larios had 10 assists. 

Match 3 against Iowa Wesleyan was a turning point for the Crimson Wave, winning the game 3-1: 17-25, 26-24, 25-11, and 25-12. Sincere Northern led with 9 kills, Makayla Watts and Diana Ortuno both had 8 kills. Rebecca Larios had 23 assists and Jade Green had 5 service aces and 16 digs. CCSJ came out on top of their final match of the weekend versus Cottey College, losing the first match and then winning 3: 25-23, 19-25, 31-33, and 12-25. Sincere Northern led the Wave with 13 kills, but Diana Ortuno and Makayla Watts followed with 11 kills each. Jade Green had a leading 4 service aces and 18 digs, Rebecca Larios had 27 assists, and Virginia Romero had 17 assists to get the Crimson Wave to victory.

The Crimson Wave Women's Volleyball team is back in action at the Rittenmeyer Center on Tuesday, September 21st at 7 PM versus Olivet Nazarene.
