Castorena earns Week1 CCAC Defender of the Week honors

Chicago, IL - The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday the first CCAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors, and Calumet College Sophomore Maria Elena Castorena was named the CCAC Defender of the Week. 

Over the weekend, Castorena helped the Crimson Wave to a 3-1 weekend at the Goshen College Tri-Meet against the Maple Leafs and Rochester University. Of the three teams that competed, Castorena had the most kills overall with 83, the third most digs overall with 72, and tied for tenth most overall blocks with 6 over the Crimson Wave's 19 sets played.
