CCSJ Women’s Volleyball signs Monney from Guatemala for 2023 season

Guatemala City, Guatemala - The Calumet College Women's Volleyball team signed Naomi Monney, a 5'8 Outside Hitter, for the upcoming 2023 season. 

Monney has represented Guatemala internationally, competing at competitions such as U18 Central American Championship (2019), U23 Women's Pan American Cup (2021), Women's Volleyball Central American Cup (2021), U-21 Female Central American Cup (2022), U23 Women's central American cup (2023), and collecting accolades such as the U21 Central America Volleyball Championship Female MVP and U23Central America Volleyball Championship Female - Second Best Hitter.

Before attending CCSJ, Monney attended Colegio Internacional Montessori, receiving Honor awards and taking AP-level classes. Monney plans on majoring in Business Management while attending Calumet College and chose CCSJ because "of the diversity that it contains. As I take part in the Latin community I think this is an essential detail."

Monney is looking forward to "playing in volleyball games with my new team and sharing new experiences with new people."
