Chicago, IL - Calumet College Women's Volleyball continues the win streak with another first-ever program win over St. Xavier on Tuesday.
After going 3-0 in CCAC play last week, including a first-ever win over Olivet Nazarene on Saturday, the Crimson Wave defeated the Cougars in their first 5-set match of the season.
CCSJ was off to a hot start, winning set one 25-22, but St. Xavier won two straight sets 25-23 to take a 2-1 lead. The Wave followed with a 25-20 win in the 4th set and force a 5th set. The two teams battled back and forth and CCSJ got ahead just enough for a 16-14 win.
Roberta Carlos Da Silva led the Wave with 24 kills and Naomi Monney was close behind with 22 kills and 11 digs. Ivana Quinones had a massive 51 assists and 17 digs and Breonn Green had 3 blocks.
The Crimson Wave return back home to The Ritt. for their next two matches, Thursday, Oct. 5th at 7:00 PM against Trinity Christian and Saturday, Oct. 7th at 1:00 PM against Roosevelt.
