Comino Couceiro and Aguilar-Martinez named CCAC All-Academic
Berta Comino Couceiro and Iraly Aguilar-Martinez were selected for the 2024 CCAC Women's Volleyball All-Academic team on Monday, November 25.
Chicago, IL – The Calumet College of St. Joseph women's volleyball team had two players named to the 2024 Women's Volleyball Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic team. The two players earning this honor are sophomores Berta Comino Couceiro and Iraly Aguilar-Martinez.
To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have been enrolled at their respective CCAC school for at least one academic year, completed at least 30 semester hours and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
Comino Coucerio, a kinesiology major, led the Crimson Wave this season in kills, kills per set, points, points per set and service aces. She also posted a .043 hitting percentage, which was the second-best percentage on the team this season. Defensively, she led the team in digs with 213, for an average of 2.92 per set. She also had 11 total blocks this season, which was the third highest of any player on the team this year.
Aguilar-Martinez, a psychology major, led the Crimson Wave this season with 17 total blocks, nine of them solo. She also had 65 kills this year, which was the third highest of any player on the team.
