SOUTH BEND, Ind. - After a two-week absence from competition, the Calumet College of St. Joseph cross country teams traveled to South Bend to participate in the National Catholic Invitational hosted by NCAA Division I University of Notre Dame.
"It was humid today," head coach Rick Torres said. "We trained through the meet to focus on next week at the Brisman-Lundeen Invitational. The times weren't as fast as we would like, but we left accomplished on both sides.
"Despite the heavy legs after a great week of training, we look forward to our next outing."
On the women's side of the coin, the Crimson Wave combined for a 1:53:37 finish. Harley Sutton lead the way with a 21:43.8, and was followed closely by Dayanir Montoya (21:49.1).
The next wave of CCSJ runners included Kellyn Vale, Celeste Rosillo and Danielle Weems, who completed the course in 22:53.3, 23:26.9 and 23:43.9, respectively.
Next up on the trail is a trip to Rock Island, Ill., for the Brisman-Lundeen Invitational on Sept. 23 with race festivities beginning at 5 p.m.
