Men's Basketball efforts halted by Titans in 80-61 loss
In Wednesday's match-up, senior Lawrence Pointer's leadership with 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist was not enough as the Crimson Wave fell short in the 61-80 loss to the Indiana University South Bend Titans.
In the first half of the action, the Wave stayed strong in the competition. Nearing the middle of the first half, the Wave held a lead of 28-21 in midst of the multiple lead changes. At the end of the half, the Titans held the momentum with a score of 37-30. The Wave outshot the Titans in the first half in total field goal percentages shooting 42.9% to the Titans 38.9%, and in three-point field goal percentages shooting 46.2% to 40.0%. In the second half, the Wave was unable to get back into the driver's seat of the competition. In multiple attempts to close the gap, the Wave was unable to grab hold of the lead for the remainder of the game. The IUSB Titans secured the win 80-61. In the second half, the Wave shot a field goal percentage of 30.3% shy of the Titans 53.3%.
