Thursday evening, the CCSJ Crimson Wave Women's Volleyball team hosted Trinity International and lost in 3 close sets; 25-16,25-20,& 25-20. Before the match, seniors #1 Emma Sweeney and #18 Rebecca Larios, were celebrated for their time with CCSJ Volleyball and Coach Sean McMorrow shared each player's story and plans after graduation.
With celebration on the mind, the Crimson Wave fought hard in each set to get ahead of TIU but every time CCSJ led, the Trojians found a way to comeback and win the set. Makayla Watts led the Crimson Wave with 8 kills and Maria Elena Castorena had 7 kills. Rebecca Larios had 12 assists, Jade Green and Amairani Tellez each had 12 digs, and Sincere Northern had 2 block assists.
The Crimson Wave Women's Volleyball team has a long trip to their next games on Saturday, Oct. 16th at Bluefield State College in West Virginia, but return to their home court on Monday, Oct. 18th to host Roosevelt at 7 PM.
