Crimson Wave defeated 3-2 by Governors State

The Crimson Wave Women's Volleyball team traveled to Governors State on Saturday, and after 5 close and exciting sets CCSJ was defeated 3-2 by GSU. 

CCSJ started off strong in the 1st set, quickly taking a lead and staying ahead of GSU, the Crimson Wave quickly took set 1 25-15. In the 2nd set, Governors State started off close behind the Crimson Wave and not till the end of the set were the Jaguars able to pull ahead and defeat CCSJ 25-22. The Crimson Wave kept their momentum going into the 3rd set when they battled back and took the lead against GSU to win set 3, 25-21 and lead 2-1. In the 4th set, CCSJ had a slow start and couldn't quite get ahead of the Jaguars, losing 20-25 and moving into a 5th set. In the final set, GSU had the momentum but the Crimson Wave didn't give up and came back to be within points of the Jaguars, but couldn't come ahead, losing 11-15. 

The Crimson Wave leaders on the day were Makayla Watts with 13 kills, Rebecca Larios with 28 assists and 11 digs, and Amari Jefferson with 5 blocks.

The Crimson Wave return home on Tuesday, November 2nd at 7 PM against St. Ambrose.
